Music & Worship Arts
Mark Parsons, Director of Music
Art, in all its forms, has the power to touch our hearts and awaken us to the glory of God. From music, drama and visual arts, to media, lighting and sound, we believe that the best art should be found in the church. The Worship Arts Ministry provides a place for artists to grow and develop their gifts in community. Our purpose is to help people experience the life-changing presence of God and develop a lifestyle committed to worship. Come and join us at Charity to express and develop your God-given talents.
"Let everything that hath breath. . . Praise the Lord!"
Opportunities for Service in Music & Worship Arts at Charity United Methodist Church
Charity Cherubs.....Wednesdays 6:10 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.
** The Cherub Choir is on summer break and will resume September 22 **
The children's choir and worship experience is a wonderful opportunity
to nurture and encourage worship and glorify God in the lives of
our children. Through music and drama we are building lives and developing talents.
Children from age 4-11 are currently accomodated in the Cherub group.
Chancel Choir.....Wednesdays 7:00 p.m.
Our adult choir offers an amazing experience in worship. Adults with every
level of musical competency are welcome to join as we offer
praise to God. As we read in 1 Corinthians 12, we
are all parts of the body of Christ, and when we join together,
we make one beautiful sound. The Chancel Choir provides
music for the traditional 11:00 a.m. service, and special events
and services throughout the church year.
GRACE Praise & Worship Team.....Thursdays 7:00 p.m.
Providing leadership in worship and praise at the contemporary
worship service at 8:30 a.m., GRACE is an exciting group of
musicians with vocal and instrumental talents. If you have a
passion to lead people in worship in a less formal setting,
and you are vocally or instrumentally talented and have ability
to harmonize, contact Alan Peterson through the main office for an audition.
Pungo Players Drama Team
The Pungo Players enhance our worship experiences and
enlighten us through sermon illustrations, short sketches, and
drama throughout the year. Scheduled meetings for this group
are subject to change seasonally. We are looking for actors,
